Networking

• Monthly Board Meetings: The Board of Directors meet the second Tuesday of the month. The board meetings are open to the public. Any members that would like to sit in on the meetings are welcome. If there are any ideas or concerns you would like to voice, there is a time you can do that at these meetings.
• Quarterly Luncheons: Quarterly luncheons are held at various locations in town. The Chamber arranges for a special guest speaker to talk on issues that affect us all. This is also an opportunity to network your business.
• After Hours Mixers: On thee second Thursday of each month, a different member business hosts a Mixer at their location. This is a great opportunity to expose your business in a relaxed atmosphere to others while food and beverages are offered.
• Special Events and Activities: The Chamber hosts a number of events that members can get involved in to further expose their business to the public. Some of these events are:
  • Annual Citizen of the Year Banquet and Casino
  • Oakley Almond Festival
  • Annual Chamber Bass Tournament
  • Christmas Tree Lighting
• Committees: There are many opportunities to get involved in the many committee functions that make the Chamber work. Through interaction with others in the Chamber and working together toward a common goal, you further increase the exposure of your business and gain greater respect of the public. The following are a few of the committees you can be involved with:

  • Government Affairs Committee
• Marketing and Support:
  • Monthly Newsletter: Mailed each month to Chamber members and other entities, the newsletter keeps you abreast of what is happening in the Chamber, local issues that may affect you, plus an opportunity to advertise to the readers. The newsletter is also published online.
  • Oakley Resource Guide & Directory: The Chamber publishes an annual resource guide, listing all members along with information about schools, local government, emergency services, and other information about Oakley.
  • Oakley Almond Festival: Each September, the largest event in Oakley attracts thousands of people offering members a discounted rate to participate and showcase their goods and services to the public.
  • Internet Exposure: Your business is listed online at www.oakleychamber.com with links to your website and/or email address.
